Gordon Biersch Closed!

A popular brewery in Mission Valley, Gordon Biersch has recently closed its doors after 20 years of being open. This restaurant has been one of the staples in Mission Valley and a popular destination. It was one of the first of 25 Gordon Biersch restaurants to open nationwide. There is a bunch of brewery competition which ultimately lead to the restaurant shuttering. The restaurant was known for its amazing burgers paired with one of their craft beers made in house. Some of the sauces even incorporated beer into them.

Puesto To Replace Gordon Biersch!

Puesto will be taking over the Gordon Biersch location and scheduled to open Fall of 2019. Puesto will not be removing the brewing section of the restaurant but will be utilizing it to produce its own beer. This will be a first for this restaurant group. They specialize in Mexican-American food which will include tacos, multiple guacamole options and obviously delicious margaritas. My personal favorite taco is their filet mignon which has crispy melted cheese, avocado, and a spicy pistachio serrano salsa.

Puesto currently operates six restaurants in California. Gordon Biersch had a great outdoor seating area and would expect that it will remain the same with the new owners. Staff of Gordon Biersch will all be interviewed for available positions as Puesto’s ownership plans to retain as many staff members as possible.

I believe that Puesto will be a great addition to Mission Valley. There are very few full service Mexican restauants to the caliber of Puesto’s authenticity and fresh product. If it is anything like the other Puesto restaurants it will be a hit and a great vibe for mission valley.
