North Italia located at the Fashion Valley
North Italia is located at the Fashion Valley Mall in front of Bloomingdale’s. It is one of the newest restaurant additions to the mall in Mission Valley. North Italia was built from the ground up and you can expect to be wowed from the second that you walk in. They are known for amazing Italian food and great drinks. The atmosphere is upbeat with an open style kitchen, wrap around bar with TV’s and outdoor covered dining area.

My Thoughts on North Italia?
After all the talk about North Italia, we decided to go and check it out for ourselves. There was a long wait list when we arrived, so we decided to sit at the bar and eat. They offer an extensive cocktail list ranging from bourbon cocktails to sangria. I love whiskey sours, so their Apple Bourbon Sour caught my eye. It was delicious and was very refreshing with slices of fresh apple.
After looking over the menu, we decided to start with the white truffle garlic bread and then share the margherita pizza and short rib radiatori. The white truffle garlic bread was amazing! It was like garlic bread on steroids with house made ricotta, mozzarella, grand padano, fresh herbs and white truffle.
As for the pizza, I am a big fan of margherita pizza so I had to put it to the test. It definitely didn’t disappoint as it was cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. The short rib radiatori may have been one of the best short rib pasta dishes I’ve had. The house made pasta had parmesan cream, fresh horseradish for a kick, wilted arugula with a herbed breadcrumb that made the dish. It had a light and rich taste all at the same time.
I would highly recommend checking out North Italia whether it be for a drink or for the whole experience. You will not be disappointed by any means. Make sure to arrive early or get a reservation.
